Where can a Landowner go to buy some pheasants to stock their fields? We own about 15 acres of fields and it would be cool to fill them up for the future seasons. Any ideas? The land is in Bradford County PA, and we live in Bucks Co.

There was a place in Tuncanock, on the way up to bradford. My uncle live's up in bradford and we would get about 120 every season and stock his feilds with about a dozen or two every week end during small game. He had a 50'x 100' penn we would keep them in. but the minks, fishers and fox and coyote started to get in and kill them all so we stoped doing it. they are cheaper if you buy them young and raise them your self but you can by them full grown. I will give him a call and see if he still has the number for the place. you need buy to transport boxs for them.

I got a few places, but if your going to do it, I suggest you put and take. Otherwise your birds won't last long.. Hawks, coyotes and foxes will remove your birds for you..... your looking at 15 to 18 dollars a cock bird... expensive coyote foood....

There is a guy that sells birds right in Bucks County. He's near Quakertown. I forget his name and I'll try to get his number for you. If your on 309 going into Quakertown right when you pass Faulkner Ford You'll see a glass place. If you going North it'll be on your left. South opposite. That road right next to the glass place. Going North on 309 it's a left. Going South it's a right. Sorry I forget the name of the road. But if you take that road you'll see his place on your right about 4-5 miles down. If you need anymore help just shoot me a PM and I'll try to help you out as best I can.

Nah RUSS. I know where your talking about. It's not powderborn. He's a private guy. He's actually a teacher for a local HS. He does the upland bird thing on the side. His operation is big and he has his family help him, but nah its not powderborne preserve. He's really only got 15 acres. And he's deffinatly not a hunting preserve.

Get this guys stuff and send it to me, if you find it.. I'm always looking for different breeders for my private hunts..... I'd rather pay 1 or 2 dollars more for birds and not have to deal with "Rich".

Search for Powderbourne. I know they have private land for paid hunts, but not sure if they sell birds too.
They do have a great diner there!

Eagleye & RUSS-
I e-mailed my brother this morning about the info. He said he might not be doing it anymore, but he's not sure so check into it. He's a local smaller guy that will probably work with you more than others.

You might want to research "Pheasants Forever."
We live near Powderbourne and the birds from there show up in back yards. They act more like chickens than wild birds - clueless.
