View Full Version : Feedback for Lumenoks

I just ordered Lumenoks for my arrows and was wondering if anybody had been using them and what they thought. I see them a lot on the hunting shows and they seem to work well. I can see how tracking the arrow after the release could help determine shot placement but I also like the idea of easier arrow recovery after you take a shot at an animal. There has been several times when I shoot deer I find the arrow 10-20 yards in the direction the deer ran. It might make picking up a blood trail a little easier. Let me know what you all think.

Sometimes I have a bad habit that I always have to be aware of when shooting. Trying to watch the arrow fly rather than following through on the target. If I got those things my habit would be a mess and I'd be looking for that arrow every freaking time!!! :naughty:

I was given one by a guy on a trip out of state. I popped it in and shot a deer with it. The problem seems to come after impact because they shut back off. Its good to see where u hit but don't count on them staying lite.
My buddy has the ones that turn on by a magnet mounted on the shooting ledge of the riser. They stay on no matter what but cost more.
I say give'em a try its pretty neat.

I bought the Easton lumenoks. They are great. $20 bucks for two real ones and two weighted practice nocks but they work great. One of the best non-necessary hunting purchases I've made in quite sometime.

Thats funny, I watched the video and I'm thinking to my self I could either spend the money and have them sent directly to my house or waste time and gas driving around trying to find all the parts I need. The few hours it would have taken me to build a few I could have worked an hour overtime and bought 7 of them.

My buddy uses them. They are pretty cool to watch. Especially in low light.

I shot easton lighted nocks this year, and loved them, till I took them in the field. They work every time on target, I shoot a pse x force, fast is right, they worked. I headed north for a week of beer and deer hunting in new hampshire this year. first week of sept, rain was none stop. All five in my quiver and the one on my bow crapped out. So field test failed. But great idea, when they work its worth the money. Easton owes me 120 bucks on the 12 I fell for, six target nocks great, six nocks I hunted with, failed. When wet. Real wet!but If I go out in the rain, it should work.

Let me ask you guys this question because i have never heard it being addressed. When you put them on your arrows, did you change the grains of your head? You went from a 5 grain nock to a 25 grain nock. Now to offset the weight of the lumenok then you should have to add 25 grains to your broadhead. Atleast on paper. I'm a big supporter of FOC for my arrows and i cant see how adding 25grains to the back of your arrow does not throw off the FOC of the arrow and flight. I might be wrong but i dont think so. I'm interested if anybody made and changes.

On the tail end you now have 50grains more weight to your total arrow so you just slowed down your rig by about 12-15fps if not more. WHich then makes those 125 dollar a dozen aluminum carbon ultralight arrows not really worth the price. LOL

I didn't think of the weight difference. I will let you know when I shoot them.

I too would like to try them, and am curious if they change the arrow flight. don't believe they are at all necessary, but it would be cool. if you practice often and take ethical shots, you should know your point of impact without looking
