Well i would like to say that i am new to this site and new to hunting. however i have been a member of bassbarn if that helps. my boss talked me into hunting next season since everytime we go on a job we are always walking through the woods looking for scrapes and stuff. plus it gets me out of work early. i have been looking at bows and the bowtech admiral looks to be about the best for me. i called the sportsmans center ans they dont have them and neither does bobs. the other catch is im left handed. where could i start my search now and roughly how much should i be spending. thanks erik

welcome to BB. im from bassbarn as well. LBI Surfrat here.
I too just got BACK into bowhunting this past season. got a Bowtech Diamond Nitrous....they dont make it in left hand. sorry.
My advice would be to go to archery talk DOT com.:D they have a lot of second hand bows for sale. with BT, Mathews, Hoyt producing new bows every year guys are selling there bows after a year or two. Go to the shops to see which ones feel good in your hand. and that will help in your decsion.
My budget didnt allow me to get the fully tricked out BT General. sweet bow. I think they're all great. a matter of personal preference in my opinion. see what grips ya like, most are almost shock free. some are quieter then others.
seems like you have plenty of time so do some research and dont rush anything.
if you or your boss need help "walking the woods" i will help!:D what kind of work do you do that your in the woods? landscaping, surveyor?

I just ordered a left handed Captain all blacked out. I got the matching Octaine stabilizer, Octaine 1 piece quiver , the G5 Expert 2 drop away(its a very quiet, simple and tough rest , i did research and heard nothing but good things about them). And sight wise its whatever your preference is , HHA optimizer is a good single pin adjustable sight and i just picked up the new cobra drm pin sight. The drm is a really nice looking sight for a decent price , but if your willing to spend a little on a pin sight check out the new axcell armortech hd.I might be switching to that. For really cheap accessories go on bowhuntingsuperstore or check out lancaster archery online.Hope this helps u out a little.

i have to say you must have had a bad bow, because bowtech is one of the best bow companies on the market today. By far the most innovative. Did i mention fastest? That admiral is sweet. I shot it completely stripped down with nothing but a rest and didnt even know i released. Great choice.
For a sight i went a little off the wall on Vinny's suggestion from the sportsmans center. Its a sword Apex accu-site. Great sight. Nearly indestructible fiber optics and easy to set up. Locks in tight. Havent had any problems. Plus have vinny call them up and you can order whatever color scheme you want. I got the twighlight hunter.

well i went with the admiral, i found an octane quiver on ebay for $80 and 100 grain t-lock broadheads $39 for 6 new ones. im leaning toward a eclipse hind sight. i like the way that you can just put the circle in the ring and pick what dots for what yardage. has anyone had any luck that that sight?

well i picked up my bow earlier this week, since i am new at this i have a few questions about the arrow weight and things. the birth cert says it has a 61.5 pound peek. and tested at 30in draw and 300grain arrow for 313ibo. i left the draw weight where it was and had the length adjusted for 27.5in. no does that affect the 300gr for the arrow or does it stay the same. and what combo would be best to get withing the weight range of the total arrow. thanks erik
