I got a gsp pup and was just wondering if anyone trains dogs. I know some guys do it for enjoyment. If anyone would be up for giving me a hand or some tips I could meet up at winslow or glassboro wma. Let me know thanks guys

Congrates on the German Shorthair pup. I train my dogs for my guide service. If I can help you with tips, I'd be more than happy to. I've already helped out a bunch of guys on the Barn with their dogs. Feel free to shoot me an email off the posts or I can give you my number and you can call me.

Russ's dog is blind in one eye and cant see out of the other, runs in circles. Just kidding buddy. I havent met someone more into his dogs or more willing to share his knowledge on the subject with you. Do yourself a favor and call him when you have some time. Stand up guy

Nice one Ray:cool:. You forgot blind, crippled and missing a leg. I call that on "Tripod". The only thing is when he goes on point, he falls on his face. I haven't gotten any calls anymore, because I started charging since I helped Adam with his dog! Now Ruger just walks in the field and the birds just fly to Adam's feet and beg for mercy! Its tough on the dog's noses right now. I can't wait till the temp breaks. You got any spots out there in Jersey you want to hunt? I'll run the dogs for you. I just know if I need a Jersey license to run the dogs? Anyone got any info on that? Otherwise Ray, we'll hit a preserve down there. I'm always up for a road trip.

Back to your original Q, the best tip you can get is take your time and be patient only takes a few minutes a day ... and get him to the range.... if your dog is gunshy it will take a bit to get him over it, but it can be done.... if he listens well and can handle guns... the rest is instinct ...you just have to get him on birds
