Ok looking at arrow rests is worse than buying a new bow!:)
Which ones do you guys think are the quietest when drawing with carbons-- right out of the box with no mods needed ? Im talking fall-away rests.

I have experience with three ...
First one was the Mathews Dropaway. Not this years brand new model, but the older model. It was a nightmare. I couldn't get it drop out of the way in time. Couldn't get it to tune. The string that goes to the cable has to be tied in. It isn't full containment. I would not recommend it for $125.
Second one was the Ripcord. I like it. Has the football clamp to clamp the string to the cable of the bow. So adjusting it is a breeze. Has the full containment bar which means you can set it up before you have to shoot and the arrow won't fall off. The $85 dollar model has adjustments both up and down.
The third one I've used is the QAD Ultra-Rest Hunter Fall-Away Arrow Rest. This one is the mid-model in this line for about $49.99 dollars. It is full containment, again meaning it can be set in the shooting position prior to shooting and the arrow can't fall off. It comes with a moleskin type material to put on the prongs to keep it quiet. I'd recommend the $89.99 model because it is easier to adjust but for $49.99 this model works great.
Of the three, I'd recommend the QAD first, the Ripcord second and I wouldn't recommend the Mathews. The guy I sold my Mathews rest to is doing ok with it but it took him quite a bit of time to get it shooting ok and he still has contact with his arrows.

QAD Ultra Rest:thup: Easy to set up and no issues with it dropping out of the way in time...even with the arrow moving 300+FPS.

Look into the Trophy Taker Fall-Away's as well. I use the Shakey Hunter Model and with a small amount of moleskin(fleece) on the arrow prongs it's almost silent.

That's what I'm trying to avoid--adding the moleskin. Not really sure if its even possible with any rest though.

LOL this is my exact setup as well. when my bow was first setup the 20 yard was setup so when it dropped away it is so low it actually taps the bottom and makes a little noise. I have wanted to raise the whole setup about half an inch to see if I can avoid that tap but it never has impacted me or my hunting so I just never tweaked it.
but yes I like the trophy taker.

I was waiting for someone to suggest that, I'm thinking bout getting one myself just not to sure about the stability, down range flight and accuracy. But damm how can I deny it when evey hunting show one is used. But there has to be some loss when the arrow is forced forward and the whisker bends forward a bit and they goes the stability you had,,just a thought.Am I right ?....LT.

I shoot the NAP drop away. I did moleskin my window so that the arrow doesn't clink the window. The draw back to this rest is the lift cable is pulled by the cable slide, as opposed to the bow cable itself.

The whisker biscuit is the best. I shoot thin carbon arrows & use the larger hole designed for alum arrows. (the guy that set up the bow recomended this.) I have great groups no noise & don't have to worry about any mechanical parts breaking, or arrows falling off the rest. I don't know why any one would shoot any thing else. The only problem I ever had was with my old arrows. They didn't have enough glue on the fletching & started to come off. A drop off crazy glue on the leading edge of the arrow fixed that problem. & it only happened on arrows I shot more then 25 times.
Get one you won't regret it. My friend has the smaller hole designed for the carbon arrows & his bow shoots the same.

Not that I don't believe you guys but HOW is the bisquit quiet ? I mean the bristles are pretty stiff. I never used one but I picked one up and took a look at it and it seems like it would be loud when drawing. But I guess if it wasn't quiet nobody would use it-

I haven't shot one but i know 4 a fact it's quieter than all yours. That air rest wit the magnets. Absolutely no arrow contact at all.
