Dove Report

My boy got a good report at school so, as promised, I took him with me dove hunting. We hunted Evansburg State Park at the corner of Stump Hall and Route 73. Saw a few here and there. Had a decent shot at one. Knocked it down into an overgrown hay/sunflower/milo/sorgum mix field. Looked for about 20 minutes and couldn't find a feather :huh:. Went back to the spot I shot from and visually marked the spot it fell three times. It happens from time to time but I never like it.

Oh well. The boy had a great time and so did I getting out in the field together. On the way home we stopped for pizza and water ice. He did his homework well and without prodding. A great day all around. :):thup:

Thats what its all about:) congrats on a nice father son hunt, you'll get-em next time. Thats the only thing i dont like about bird hunting with out a dog.

Got out for an hour and a half, Saw 2 unlucky Doves! 2 shots 2 Kills! :fight:
man they were high! one came down like a helicopter,Liberty was jumping up and down on her hind legs trying to get it befor it hit the ground! she`s such a Cool Dog!:thup:

Sounds like a great day with your Son. I took my Dad who is 76 out again to Quarryville on Wednesday in the same field we have been doing great and not a single bird. Walked about 2 miles and found a farm they were feeding in and was able to get the OK to hunt . So took Dad back and he had non stop shooting for about 15 min . We ended up with 5 birds and had two that I spent about 30 min and could not find.

I love hunting and fishing with my son. My dad is going to be 78 this year and the three of us go fishing together. Those are some really special memories. This year we all went crabbing. What a blast.:thup:
