A guy at work has a new Nikon Monarch 3x9x40 he is selling. Only used it to sight in his gun. Was thinking about putting it on my ML and wanted to know if anyone has any experience with this scope. Price is right at 165$.

I don't know about the Monarch, but I knocked my slug gun off a chair onto the basement floor which had a Nikon ProStaff 2x7x32 on it. Shot the gun and the scope was still on. Sold me on Nikon.

Buy it. I have a Nikon Monarch 3x12 on my 300 WSM and a 3x9 Buckmasters on my muzzleloader. I think they allow much better light through than my Leupold VX III. If you change your mind give me your buddies phone number and I will buy it:thup:. Good Luck.

excellent scope, a little much for a gun that shoots 100 yards, but will defenitly be great in low light conditions, you will get at least ten more minites of shooting time, but i would put it on for sure
