on some forums having the location is mandatory.
i would like to see it here also. guys ask questions all the time, and not knowing what area or even what state, makes it tough to answer.
i know some won't like it, but it makes a forum better.
i run into guys that are on other forums, that live very close to me, but you'd never know it since they don't have a location listed.

for me it's easier to answer questions.

what do you think?

I think it is a pretty good idea, if that means anything :)

Good suggestion UB

It is now manditory for all new users to enter a location when they register :)

Anyone who registered previously and did not enter a location, can do it now by editing your profile. Simply log on >> UserCp (Top Left) >> Edit Your Details.

Thanx UB!

thanks for the support.
i don't like mandating or being told what to do, but it does help sometimes to know location.
hope this goes over well, or i'll be black listed.:D

Im sure those who are dead set against giving their location will use their imagination when filling out the field.

I can see it now....

Location - Earth

On the other hand. I'm willing to bet most people won't have a problem listing their general location. Especially if they realize it could potentially help others help them.

You've heard the old saying~ "Ya gotta give a little ta get a little" :)

I'm on a couple forums that require you to register with your real name. That cuts out a lot of the mud slinging arguments, especially when EVERYONE has their real name on their posts. Not saying that should be done here, but it does make for a much more civil discussion when opinions conflict.

BTW, I think the location is a good idea.

I'd be interested in knowing (not that it's possible) how many people actually register with their "real name" :please:

only the people who's business revolves around their name.
many trappers, trapping lure makers, fur buyers, ect.. use their name.
but thats how they sell their business, free talk forums. it's a lot cheaper then buying add space.
some guys tried the "earth" locations, they got a time out for that trick.

We make every attempt to limit commercial user names to those who advertise with us. That way our adverisers don't feel as though they got the short end of the stick  :)

These are competitive shooting sites that I'm referring to. The sites that I am talking about are very well known in their specific disciplines. I know these people use their real names because I've met them at matches, and seen their names on the published match results that appear in the "Shooting Sports USA" magazine from the NRA.
