Yeah Ruger did some damage. We've got these lil fake lemons decorated around. They are foam, but one must of fell off and Ruger got to it. He loves tennis balls so I think thats kinda what he had in mind when he started playing with it. It's ruined but not a expensive ornamint.

Ozzy ate pretty much a whole pumpkin pie right off the table, and stole other assorted food items when no one was looking.
Nothing like a 24" lab that can put his head on the DR table and just take what he wants...
Mother in law screamed... I laughed...

Nothing as of yet! But the day is still young and the kids toys are still out. I keep telling them, to put their stuff up or one of the dogs will get them. I think it helps that Briar is pregnant. She just kind of lays around all day, very sleepy... Damn dog is spoiled! She's laying on my favorite chair right now. Don't think she'll be doing anymore grousing this year at this rate...

I cannot wait to toss the tree to the curb. Between Sugar (lab pup) and Klause (demonic kitten) the Christmas season has been a mess.
Let's see our poor abused christmas tree spent most of it's time leaning against the wall because it was just easier that way. We bought cheap plastic ball ornaments for the tree so as to avoid the dog eating the good glass ones. That worked out well. The did cat figure out that if he knocks the balls of the tree, and the dog eats them, the dog gets yelled at. We tried to keep the good/sentimental ornaments that we just couldn't leave off the tree at the top of said tree and only suffered one casualty. I can't begin to count the number of times the cat got clotheslined by the lights while abushing the dog as she ran by the tree. For those who don't know, it is much funnier when the lights are on. The dog also had her share of getting stuck in the lights while braving the cat's evil under the tree lair. Puppies are so cute when wrapped in white lights attached to falling christmas trees. Oh, small puppies can indeed pull over big christmas trees.
All in all we have spent the majority of the last 2 weeks putting the tree back up, reinstalling the lights and ornaments, pulling out hair, and trimming the branches that just can't quite hack it any more. The dog, in the spirit of giving, decided to help me remove the low and some not so low hanging branches. It is my fault of course because just as I get her to stop eating my little shrubs outside, I bring a big tree inside. I see where this can get confusing.
But now that the end is in sight, my tree looks pathetic, it's completely flat on one side and missing all the branches below 20 or so inches, which happens to be the level of the dog's back. I'd love to take some pics but out of respect for the dead I cannot. Other than that, my christmas with the animals was the usual fiery inferno of a circus, minus the fire, that I call normal.

I am sad to say my stupid Choc Lab Chips got into my girl's christmas candy yesterday. He ate about 2 lbs of assorted candies, including chocolate. By the time I got home, he had already digested it (made him puke, nothing there). I can only hope that it was not enough to do permanent damage:(. Other than that he left the tree and presents alone...this year.

I stopped putting up a tree a few years ago. We would decorate the whole tree, on thanksgiving, after dinner, and by christmas, all the decorations would be on the top 1/3 of the tree. i know my dad has pics, its hilarious.

so far Copper, my new Brittany spanial, has only destroyed some small insignificant decorations. the kids toys are taking a beating though. we have only had her for two weeks and I would say everything is going well.
only a few accidents in the house.
she found her first woodcock two days ago, I couldnt believe it!

Eagle Eye,
I know its not good for the dogs, but I think Labs have a knack for making it through. My wife's Lab ate a whole giant chocolate bunny and the damn thing just wouldn't die... Finally gave up the ghost a couple of years back.. Sorry he just wasn't a hunting dog, thus I've got no use for him. I don't think you have too much to worry about.....
