Its gonna be a little chilly tomorrow morning--about 2deg at 6am!!:eek:

And the winds are gonna be 20 mph sustained and gusts 35-45. I'll stay nice and warm in bed and give the deer another day to settle down from last week. Tuesday - GAME ON!!

Was thinking about sitting the stand, but I can already hear the wind gust. Thats a negative for on the deer stand. The wind plus being as spooked as the are I probaby won't see anything.

this will be the first ground sit for me this year.
with the north west i'm going all the way in and tight to water and cedar swamp. this will keep me down wind of everything. and this area hasn't been hunted yet this year.

sat till 9:30
saw turkeys, squirels, ducks, canada geese and snows.
i left early cause there were hundreds of robins in the swamp i was in. the noise they make is unreal.
went to pull my short rat line.
everything was froze, had to bust ice to pull the sets. i had one rat. i think it's a black rat, so much ice on it i'm not sure yet. bitter out there in open fields, winds hawkin.

Nothing here either. Wasn't that bad where I was. I was right on the edge of a swamp and the dense trees blocked a lot of the wind. Ill be back tonight.

I knew this would happen! So I wake up nice and early. Have a pot of coffee and an egg. I start to check my traps and wouldn't ya know it here come three doe all three stop and stare at me at about 35 yds completely broadside. I keep saying to myself why not just take the slug gun with you? Just put a some organge on and hunt and check traps at the same time. I guess I loose! I didn't do it. Oh well.

also saw some turkeys, about 30 birds.
some real nice long beards.

should be able to get a hunt in on tuesday, but wed. doesn't look good.

sat all day today 3 pairs of socks and 14 handwarmers very crunchy and sliiiiiiipppery 5 does never crossed the line out of the state park gonna sit tomorow 11 till 5 hopefully some snow melts by 11 so i can get in quitely good luck to all buck opens again in 4 days cant wait really dont need any more meat but would enjoy some late season bone:)
