Brands, Pumps , Semi's , Over/unders???
I use an composite 870 in the marsh, I have a Browning Gold (High gloss)and an Over/Under but can't bring myself them bury it in the salty mud.
Was thinking of getting a Remington O/U (310) or a cheaper semi so I'm really looking for a little input. May just bite the bullet and buy an Xtrema.

Benelli SBE 2... Before that I shot and abused an Extrema 1 for several years.
I shoot the SBE 2 for everything these days.

Extrema. I have really abused it the past few years and have had zero problems. I also hunt mainly in the salt marsh. The poor gun is always covered in mud and salt spray. The barrel is stating to show signs of rust but the new extrema 2 has the aqua-tech finish that is supposed to prevent that. I actually have an extrema 2 waiting for me at the gun shop but have not had a chance to pick it up. Good luck with what ever you get.

If you loved the Extrema 1, you're gonna really love the Extrema 2 when you get the time to pick it up & try it out. Gun has no recoil whatsoever IMO. Even though you can throw 3 1/2'' shells in there, I dropped a woodie or two at 30,35 yards w/ 2 3/4'' #4 steel. Gun is very accurate!

I actually won the gun in a raffle. It is waiting for me in Delaware. I won it in black but the dealer was going to get it in camo for me and I was going to pay him the difference. For some reason he has not been able to get it in camo for me. When I get the time after the holidays I'm going to go down and pick up the black one. I love the extrema 1 that I have now, and I know a few people w/ the 2 and they all love them. looking forward to getting the new one.

I've used alot of different scatterguns for waterfowl. I keep coming back to my personal favorite a beretta 686...........fits well, and with 28" barrels it's easy to manuver in a sneakbox...........
Close second would be the extrema. Both gunning partners of mine use them, and they hold up well in the salt too........

From 12 years old I shot a Remington 870 that I loved and still have. The one catch with 870's that I have seen in others as well is that shells with any kind of corrosion can get hung up in the chamber after firing, the gun could be more forgiving in that sense. I end up pounding the butt on the ground to get the shell to eject. Kinda of frustrating when birds are getting away.
For the last 6 years I have used a Benelli Super Black Eagle. I care only about function and this gun does it all. I do not clean it often, just spray it down with WD 40 if it gets wet and keep going. It shoots every shell I put in it, it is very light, it takes a licken and keeps on ticken. It was black composite, but I painted it camo with a feather duster finish, which is starting to wear off in some places, but it still does the job.

To help with the rusty shell problem I keep the shells in an old peanut butter container, first thing out of the box I spray them with WD 40, lightly. The plastic container keeps them pretty dry and doesn't take up much room in a boat or blind.

I take my banged up 835 most of the time, I dont really care what happens to that gun, it still shoots as good as the day I got it, I like being able to shoot 3.5 ammo depending on the situation.
