We do not expect any unless they are wearing hip boots and have a lot of energy. The ones that did get in here over the years were arrested including one big club near Fort Dix that posted my neighbors land "by mistake". Nothing like coming home from berrying and finding someone had cut your land in half with signs.

I have them every year. I pay a mortgage and taxs they pay nothing. The worst part is I plant food plots and I catch guys every year hunting them on posted property. Only in New Jersey!:naughty:

Untill you start to prosecute it will be a problem ! Get to know the warden inyour area ,it is a great way to get real help and get soem one who knows the game laws . I have several friends in law enforcement and none hunt , I will ask them a question regarding hunting and i get a different awnser from each . But make sure your bounderies are properly posted and prosecute them, We allways get there hunting tag number and even take a pic from our camera phone , then send it to the warden and he takes care of it if he cant come out. the wardens are there to help! get to know them you will be surprised how much they can help .

Run across one every few years. They are usually lost and scared, though, and are actually happy to see me. I gave a guy a ride to his car once. It took about 15 minutes to drive there and I was going about 60mph.

The first time I saw him he asked me which way to the highway. I told him to follow the road to the right and he'd be alright. After a while of thinking, I figured he might turn right on a road that just petered out into an old logging road. It was getting dark and this guy was going to be screwed. I grabbed a flash light and ran him down. It was dark by then and he was heading further and further into the bush.

Boy, was he excited to see his car in the SGL parking lot when I finally got him there. :D

Always a problem. I love the people who argue with you. "my uncle owns this property, he told me I could hunt here" Yea since when, no problem when the police get here, your Uncle can bail you out.

The best was a few years back. Opening day of deer firearm. We had hunted all morning. My Dad and I went to lunch, before we pulled out, we watched this old beat up station wagon driving by repeatedly. Yea we knew, but we needed to eat. After lunch we pull up and sure enough the car is parked on our property. I'm PO, into the woods I go. I see 4 guys in coveralls (yes carhart brown coveralls ,no orange at all) on their hands and knees picking ground pine. I'm shocked, they have no idea it is hunting season. I explain to them its the first day of deer season and they could be shot. To my amazement when I tell them to leave they want to argue. At one point I thought they were going to try to take us on. They didn't even have guns. Finally I call the Police and they took off. We wonder what would have happened if not for cell phones.

From experience, call F&G to deal with tresspasers, not the police including the State Police as one person here has said they haven't a clue regarding trespass laws. Also there are two types of trespass law, one civil and one pertaining to F&G. Unless a warden is in court, a judge will determine via the civil law which is much more lenient. Wardens know just what charges to bring resulting in the stiffest penalties.

Better check the camp fridge. He may have thought that was public, too. :D

Don't know about NJ, but if you call the Game Commission for a trespasser,in PA, they'll tell you to call the cops. PA Game Laws do not cover trespassing. They can hold someone for the police until they arrive, unless they get permission from that jurisdiction via phone to take the pinch. They can file a Non traffic citation. That's it! If it is a repeat offender they could get locked up for Defiant Criminal Trespass, but that is rare....
I'm an LE in Eastern Chester County and we bow hunt on several properties in my jurisdiction. If I come across a trespasser, I just get their info and file with our district judge... Obviously most don't have that power, but you as a citizen can get the person's information and file a private criminal complaint with the district justice.. IN PA! I don't know much about NJ laws....

The worst are the road hunters, they seem to beleive that if a public road or pipleine/power line goes thru posted property they can drive around all day in their trucks, quads, etc. and shoot any deer they see from the road or pipeline and think it's perfectly legal

We have two properties and have people go passed the posted signs all the time. It is almost a full time job keeping people off. I did catch a group set up to do a drive from the road and I stopped them, told them it was private property and they started to leave. As soon as I left they set up again, so I went to the back of the property, called the police and got two of them to stop. Police did come and arrest the two, all of their hunting partners let these two guys hang. These two looked like they were the two in the bunch that could afford the fine the least, but their buddies let them hang. As far as I know, they have not been back.
