I've never used one myself, but I hear "double Bull" makes a good ground blind.

why do you want a ground blind? If you hunt in an area like south Jersey where I am from those deer wont go near an area with a ground blind....Very skittish deer around here

Unless the blind is out early in the year, that is true. I set up a Outhouse last year, using it immediately, and every deer that came by picked it right out. I have a Doghouse up that the deer walk up to within a foot while I am in it. I like the Doghouse because they are cheap, light, easy to put up, easy to draw in, easy to nap in, easy to eat in, and if it gets stolen, easy to replace. I have another Doghouse that will go up Sunday before shotgun only because I will not go near that spot until then, I expect the tourists to push them in to me all week..

I'll be hunting in North Jersey, alone, and I don't want to use the climber without a partner in the woods with me

I'll third the idea that it is very difficult to hunt the deer in Gloucester County with a ground blind. For whatever reason, they don't like the looks of it. I hunt quite often with one last year and all but a few times was nailed right away.
I tried everything from completely brushing it in with the brush that was in the area to setting it up, brushing it in and leaving it for two weeks to taking it in and out with me. They just don't like the looks of it. I had more luck ditching the blind and just seating myself on a small camo stool behind some thick brush or a bushy tree.

My father and I hunted zone 55 in Gloucester County for the past 10 years and have collectively taken 6-7 deer out of there which is most people's standard for 1 year of hunting. It's simple, that place sucks. I lived in Duck Pond Village and had permission to hunt 20 yards behind all the houses which is where most of those deer travel and we still had trouble tracking those deer down. I had most luck going deep into that swamp next the high tension line and putting a tree stand up 20 feet in the air. You will not have a deer walk anywhere near you with a ground blind there. Its kind of ironic because now I am hunting private land with no trees big enough to put a treestand. I have had to make the change into blinds which is kind of nice in terms of staying out of the elements but hard to get a shot off with ruffling the thing around. My suggestion to you would be to get deep into those swamps where the deer are hiding and set up shop all day.

only luck ive had with a ground blind is one dug into the ground with a roof that sits about 10'' above ground grade. not good for the bow tho.

You can get a good blind for about $70. An example of a blind that will meet your needs can be found on Cabelas online. Search for
QX-418603. This blind has a base of 5' x 5' and a height of 5'8". Plenty of room to shoot a bow. If you like this type of hunting, you can buy a more expensive one later.
It is important that you erect the blind outside in the shade (won't fade) to get the blind aired out before you use it. The blind 's smell and any noise you make, spooks more deer than if they see the blind.
Setup in the woods downwind about 20 yards from the area you expect to see the deer. Don't setup where the deer will be walking directly at the blind. Plan on only shooting from one side of the blind. Brush the blind with a little local vegetation to break it's outline.
Get into the blind at least a hour before sunrise or about 3 PM in the afternoon. Stay away from the area that you expect to see the deer.
Good luck!
