How much is it going to be used.I have had mossbergs for years and no problems ,but if you are going to be using the gun alot I would stay with the stoeger.

I own both the stoeger model 2000 and the mossberg 935 and both are great guns. But it's hard to beat the price on the combo from dick's on the mossberg 935 with the 28" barrel and the 24" turkey barrel. Comes with the turkey choke and red dot sight. All for 599.00 i believe. Just out this morning with the 935 duck and goose hunting and performed flawlessly.

Sorry, I just notice this older post and wanted to reply. The 835 has been my all around workhorse for no less than 15 years. I don't baby it. When I was younger, it went on many deer drives, spent alot of time in the salt marsh for ducks, muddy cornfields for goose, lots of days in the rain. I damn near needed to hose it off sometimes before I cleaned it:p It now is my slug gun because other than a few days of shotgun season, I only bow and muzzy hunt. Never a problem, other than I refinished the wood once because of all the abuse. You really can't beat the punch of the 3 1/2 for deer and goose. 3 shots = 54 OO buck pellets

I second the motion on the Mossberg. I have owned a 835 also for 19 years and have killed a lot of deer, ducks, and geese with it. It is definitely a workhorse and I have used it on drives before. I say you can't beat a Mossberg for its durability and price, you certainly wouldn't go wrong getting one. :shoot:
