Johnny,
I do hunt with an archery club here in PA, but its mainly for the amount of property we hunt. I'll be heading up to our camp on Sunday for the second week of the rifle season. I enjoy hunting the interior, as we call it. 5 miles to the nearest road, thus very little presure there. I do set up some drives on our neighbors property, but that's mainly for my mom and dad, who are getting up there in years and they can't walk around like they used too. Deer Camp is usually a family affair for us. Hunt camps were never my thing. Too much boozing and no hunting, from what I was exposed too. I know there are a ton of guys that aren't like that, I just never had the pleasure of hunting with them. I think I'll go back with my brother this year and try to call him in a rack buck. Below is a pic of the buck I called in for my friend earlier this year. Good Hunting!

Same here--Gave up on the six-day a long time ago..

I wouldn't mind joining a small club of ethical hunters though.

I hunt solo, I'm a bowhunter. I'll use the shot gun just to extend the range a bit for 6 days.

I stand hunt, shot my first deer 2 years ago out of a stand, 109lb 9 pointer. Never hunted with a club. Mostlikley won't see one drive through the woods I hunt due to the fact all the property is posted and they can't get access from the property owners. Deer here have little or now pressure.

hunting private land all week.
not into the clubs or big drives.

i have helped run fox hunts for some deer clubs after deer season is done.
some clubs are really neat places with great guys. But it seems to be another reason for a drinking get together. we show up, some never went to sleep. they play cards all night and hydrate. then grab a gun and jump into a truck.

i'll stop hunting before i join a driving club.

See that's what I'm talking about. There seems to be a greater division between clubs in PA and NJ. Deer Camps in PA don't start to drive until a couple days after the opener. We hunt way back! Most Flatlanders don't get near where we hunt, cause they are afraid to get lost. With GPS that is not the case so much, but the fear of getting a deer and having to drag it up and down mountains for 5 miles is enough of a deterant, on State Lands.. Keep it that way! At least I'll see deer during the second week. I Leave on Sunday for Sullivian, Wyoming and Luzurne Counties:D

I hunt with a club and am proud of it. 6 day for me is not about killing deer for me its about the atmosphere around the club after the hunt

:huh:who the hell would suggest that driving deer is hunting?shouldnt even be in the same sentence together.personally i find it ridiculous, dangerous, and embarassing to real hunters. However to each his own be safe out there and enjoy shooting your 2 spikers YIPPE:thdown:

Can't wait to read the post from the club guys about the pot hunters, and the pot hunters about the clubs. should be interesting:( My only beef with the clubs is when your in your stand that you have been hunting for 2 months, and the clubs come through and ya here them yell, THERES A F$%#@$G GUY OVER HERE.:fight:

Read it again pal I did not say every club or gun hunter is bad. I said I had bad encounters mostley with one club who I will not mention. I have friends who hunt with clubs. I have nothing against hunting with a gun I hunt muzzleloader and small game I just will not hunt six day anymore. I do not consider a gun hunter a club hunter there are many of bow clubs. If you have been lucky enough to not encounter any of these people during six day then good for you. But dont come on hear crying when it does happen. Good luck this week I hope you shoot the one that I gave up.

Ha, Nice. Not to push any buttons here, but you limit your buddies to the size deer they take? I find great satisfaction putting my buddies and girlfriend on the greatest trophy(s) of their lives. I'd much rather drop a gaff in a trophy tuna or bass. Or slap my buddy on the back when he dropped a nice bird or big deer that I put him on. :)

i hunted with a couple different clubs through the years. the first club was very bad, always fighting with each other, didnt treat other hunters very nice, ect, but then i joined another club and hunted with them for about 10yrs or so and they were awsome. they were organized, everyone got along, and they treated other hunters with respect,so not all clubs are bad. had to stop hunting with them because i just didnt have enough time to go.
