I was deer hunting yesterday next to a pond.About 200 geese took off and before I knew it four geese fell around my stand. No one shot .These geese where wounded and tried to take off with the others .It took them a while , but they all made it back to the pond. They were still there this morning calling when the others left .but they stayed in the pond this time.I did not get a deer ,but I have story to tell.

I called the game warden to see if I could and he has not gotten back to me yet while the geese suffer.

Unfortunately without the necessary stamps and hip # you would not be able to kill them. It's ashame, but the law is the law. I know that with steel sometimes even with a good clean shot, within good range, the steel just will go clean though the bird. No expansion equals less knock down power. Doesn't happen very much, but I have seen birds fly off a half mile and then just fall stone dead. The other sad part of the equation is that guys take long shots with some of the ammo that is avaible and wounded birds is the result.
