Slow paddling down creeks was what I was thinking. My cousin did pretty good out of his kayak last year. I figured it would not hurt to have a little cover here and there to break up the shape of the boat.

I would suggest you might get a piece of 4x4 fastgrass and drape it over the bow if you wanted something there. It's simple, rolls up neatly when you are done, and if you were to get out somewhere and wanted to build a makeshift blind you have the front ready to go.

I hunted wood duck out of a canoe once. I would paddle along and essentially jump-shoot them around the bends in the river. It was one of those rivers where you could only legally hunt while on the water - not land.

To make a long story short - flipped canoe, new gun sinking, my feet caught in the camo netting and 40 degree water filling my waders - all in only four feet of water. I was lucky to make it out of there.

My bigest mistake - hunting alone, paddling and shooting. I won't do that again.

That doesn't sound like fun.

That does not sound fun at all. I was thinking about taking turns. Having one guy paddle in the back and the other guy shoot from the front. Or using it as a layout blind in the water.

At least the paddling will keep you warm - not a bad idea.
