Got our limit at Peaslee today on quail. 16 birds ,4 guys,2 dogs. Got our last 2 birds and while 1 dog was looking for the dropped birds the other one goes on point. we think she is pointing dead birds but a covey of 5-6 more birds bust out. Saw some other hunters across the field and we put them on the birds. Heard more shots back there so I guess they found them. Puppies worked real well again today, my buddies dog had a real good day. They are both getting the hang of retrieving now.

i got a question for you guys. i own a property in salem county that has an overgrown farm field (2 at about 20 ac ea.) surrounded by woodlands and swamp. couple of lakes/ponds etc. do you think i could stock quail and get them to reproduce naturally so that i would have a native flock/coveys.

As long as there's food and water; yes. Quail were indigenous to South Jersey years ago. It wouldn't be a bad idea to put a call back pen on the property either provided you can secure it from predators.

Sounds like you guys had a good day.
Used to shoot wild quail all the time in Glo. and Salem co. Wonder what happened? They all dissapeared shortly after the leghold traps were outlawed. Coincidence?
