I just purcahsed a set of Rocky deer stalkers 1400 thinsulate. I seem to have truoble in the below 30 degree weather with my toes getting cold. So before I left for Iowa I bought these boots had them overnighted. Anyway my first trip walikng thruogh tall wet grass my feet are soaked. What gives. $200 bucks and my feet are wet. Of course after an hour my toes get cold. I can't believe Rocky who I have bought a few pairs of before and never had a problem make such a junk pair of boots. Becasue of my stupidity I awsumed everthing would be ok and I chucked the box after the fit was ok. I am pissed at Rocky. They have no cracks or bad seams just the wetness not water seems to come thruogh.

Any recomendations for another pair of boots? I need another pair now as I am about to goodwill these after 1 week of use. I am so pissed. I almost let the boots ruin ny trip with anger.

I have some of the best boats ever made and my feet still get cold. I now put tosty toes warmers in my boats and everything works better.

I have worn 3 different pairs of Rocky boots for many years and they never leaked. Did you try and contact Rocky directly and explain to them your problem? I would think they would make good on them if you call. Maybe they are not as good as they once were. I here good things about Danner Boots, check out Cabelas as they give reviews on all of their products which is something I always check out when buying something new. Let us know how you make out and good luck!

I have many pairs of lacross rubber boots with all types of different degrees of thinsulate. I wear a thin pair of socks with a pair of wool socks over top and never have a problem with cold feet and they never get wet.

I have friends that swear rubber boots are the best out there. I've heard Lacross are really good but I personally wear Muck boots now. Check out www.Muckbootsonline.com (http://www.Muckbootsonline.com) for some good ones.

Then again there is always the old "heated sox" :)

LACROSS PACK BOOT WITH FELT LINERS!!!!!

I have a pair of Rocky bearclaw boots and they are horrible in cold weather especially if they get wet. The outer layer absorbs the water and guess what happens when it's cold out; those boots become an ice cube. They now sit in my basement and collect dust.

I have a pair of Lacross rubber pack boots with 7mm felt liners and they are my go to cold weather boot. I think I paid 75 bucks for them about 10-15 years ago. They last forever. I've worn them in all kinds of freezing and wet weather and my feet stayed warm all day. They maybe a little bulky to wear, but I'd rather have warm toes and feet. My next boot will definitley be a Lacross.

Also, remember to buy one size bigger for wiggle room and wool socks.

I would contact Rocky. Bet they would hook you up. If you bought them from Cabela's, they will take them back no matter what within 30 days. I use Muck woody max with toasty toes. If its super cold (10deg or less) I wear overboots with warmers in them too.

I used to wear rockys all the time. Now i only use them if im hiking all day. I wear mucks all the time. They are pretty warm for a rubber boot. My feet are always cold. I have the booties that go over your boots, made by arctic shield. they are extremely warm and they dont weigh much for when youre hikin in. I sat all day last week when it was 15 and a high of 30 for several days staright and i was comfortable.

Are you sure your feet didnt sweat?

Thats what I originally thought. My feet sweated. But after further exam The neck of the boot interior was wet inside. My guess is they absorb water. I am calling cabella's.

If you are just stand hunting there a boots that you can get from a army surplus store. I think there are called Mickey Mouse Boots. They use wool and a air bladder to insulate. All incased in rubber. The air bladder has a value to let the air in or out.It is desinged to be vented when they were flying high altittudes. You can buy a size or 2 bigger if you like heavy soxs. Than you can add air to the bladder. In doing so the bladder fills the void around your feet.;) They were called Mickey Mouse boots because they are a little bulky and the toe area has extra insulation.

Take the boots back to the dealer and they will replace them. Rocky will not take them. I have returned 3 different pair of Rocky boots. There policy is to return them to the dealer. I had a pair that did the same thing. I walked through a wet pasture and my feet were soaked. The replacements have been perfect for the last 5 years.
