Iam looking into adding to the arsanal. Iam looking into a new water fowl / turkey gun. I have been looking at the Benelli super black eagle II and the berreta extreme II. Anyone have one or shot one, what are the +/-'s of them.

I personally like the Benelli Eagle over the Berreta. But that's just my opinion!

I have the SBE II. It's a great gun. The Extrema II is also a great gun. The benelli has less parts to clean. (no gas rings) IMO Iwould go with the benelli. That's my opinion

I have the benelli and love it. Just as mentioned before its very easy to clean. It also doesn't get as dirty as quickly as my beretta. I use my SBE for turkey.

I was up at cabelas on saturday checking them out side by side and the benelli i think fits me alot better and i dont like the idea of the gas operated recoil sysem that berreta has. The confort tech system is alot more simple desighn. I was close to buying it on saterday but they did not have it in the timber hd camo with a 28'' barrel in stock. they had the same thing but it was the max4 hd. I want to get the timber because i want to get the burris red dot scope for it, for turkey season and they dont make it in the max 4, only the timber. So instead of rushing into it i decided to wait, and check out some local gun shops. Problem is i cant find anyone in the area that can even get them. I have tried 3 gun shops in my area and all of them said they cant even order benelli because you have to atleast $15000 in bussiness a year just to carry their line. There is 2 more shops that i have to try yet but worst case i will have to order it from cabelas. The only thing is i think that cabelas isent the cheapest place to buy a gun.

Super Black eagle over the Baretta. I shoot a Winchester Super X2, very nice. I would look at the super X3 ( new model ) and the Super Black eagle.

does the win super x3, shoot 3 1/2 shells? I have been shopin around for the sbe ii and they are not to easy to find. I want the real tree or timber camo in the 28'' barrel and iam haveing trouble finding a gun shop in bucks co. that can even order them. Ive only been able to get two prices and they are within $50 of each other. Iam gonna do some more investigation on it, but one shop around me can get it $50 cheaper then cabelas but cant get it in the camo pattern i want.

Thats funny that you said that. I have a friend that told me to try that place today. He said that they are cheaper then anyone around and they are a benelli dealer. But i think when you buy gun out of state you must have it transfored to a pa dealer and they will transfore the tax and shipping and mark up. So in the end i dont think your saveing much. I found a place today about 20mi away that has it in stock and its $150 cheaper then cabelas. But iam gonna give the place in DE a call and see what there chargeing and see if its worth it. Thanks

I have owned the Benelli SBE and now have the Beretta Extrema II. The Benelli kicked the living hell out of my cheek bone while firing the 3.5's. The Beretta has a better trigger pull, is much smoother, and is absolutely easy to clean. There are no gas rings like the Remingtons. I give the nod to Beretta having owned both. But the most important thing of all guns is how it fits you. Both come with shim adjustment kits for the stock which makes for a more custom fit. Either way they are both king of the hill in the 3.5 category.

I have the SBE11 also. Love it. You are right though about kick, I was switching from Browning Gold and must have gotten accustomed to holding it loosely. First time I went off with the Benelli, it was a big shock. Left me shaking my head. I am used to it now, no big deal just hold on tight.

Thanks for all your replies. Ended up getting the sbeII yesterday got it in the real tree apg hd camo. 26'' barrel. Went up to the farm and did a little shootin with it yesterday, and man what a sweet piece. shot 2 3/4 and 3 1/2 out of her and man the 3 1/2 dont kick nearly as mucth as my mossberg. Iam gonna look in to getting the burris speed dot red dot scope for it for turkey. Next weekend iam gonna try to get out and do some goosein with it.

Have fired thousands of rounds thru Benelli M1's. Most full power buckshot and slugs. Their good guns, sometimes the light loads would not cycle the action but the M1's were not designed for light stuff. I would take a Benelli anytime.
