So guys, whats the general consensus on plucking pheasants and such?
What are you favorite methods for plucking and gutting?
Also, lets hear some good pheasant recipes....

I just breast them too.
When I used to pluck them, I used to boil water, melt some parafin in the water dip, the bird in, pull it out and start pulling the feathers off. It worked great was not to messy, but it still takes to long just to get a little extra meat.
I've often thought of just skinning the whole bird, that would be a lot easier and less messy than plucking.

Yep. Always just breast em out. Way to much time and trouble any other way.

boil hot water.... dunk em in, pluck feathers.... all plucked?>.... take the guts out run him/her through water.... you have a delicious little fancy chicken..... quarter him/her up if you want to make a stew out of it... or marinate in sea salt, fresh pepper, white wine or two beers, a shot or two of brandy.... let sit over night... place in oven with small red potatoes, onions, roast like you would a chicken... sometime potatoes take longer so start them off first using a little brine from the marinade... every so often dump a little of the marinade ontop of bird and bang.. you have a delicious meal... we just finished up two birds last night roasted in the oven.. the key to not letting them dry up is keeping them moist... dont be afraid to lay on that white wine marinade..... good luck, let me know how it turns out.....
