My brother and I shot one today side by side with an '09 Hoyt Alpha Max 32 and an '07 Hoyt Vulcan.
The Mathews, we both agreed, was noticeably faster, even to the naked eye.
That is about the point the positives ended for the Mathews.
Both Hoyts had far less hand shock and vibration.
Both Hoyts were quieter and actually the Vulcan was the quietest, probably due to the additional weight.
All three were pretty smooth when drawing. I thought the '09 Hoyt felt the best in hand.
$769 for the Mathews.
$749 for the Hoyt Alpha Max.
$500 for the used Hoyt Vulcan.
