All depends on the time of year. From april when the stripers start, till october when the tuna stop i would much rather be on the boat. From october on threw march you can find me in the woods. (if you look reel hard.):D

Fly Rod/Bow/Gun

It all depends on the season. I don't hunt Trukey, so the long wand wins in the spring.

Love gorundhogs, the 17 HMR & 6mm win during the summer when the trout are too stressed by the heat, but I love warn-water fly fishing too.

The fall is a mess. It's cool enough for trout. It's bow/M-L time. Fish on Sunday, bow/M-L Monday-Saturday when I can get out. Catch-and-release works on fish. Wack-and-release on deer doesn't. I'm so conflicted.

As my fly fishing buddy John says, 'If they had a concrete block deer season - I'de be up a tree with one waiting over a trail'. [I think he actually means it too.]

I'm more obsessed with hunting but it really a seasonal thing. When it's hot out, I'm thinking fishing. When it gets colder, I think hunting.

God loves us. He made it so deer don't have big, hard and polished antlers through much of fishing season.

Like you guys already stated, I'm glad we have both. My wife says that I'm "seasonably obsessed" The one I can't let go is bowhunting. I tried to analyze it and I think its the one on one nature of bowhunting that does it for me. Getting tied up with a nice bass on the rocks is great, but its just not the same adreniline rush as finally getting close enough to a big buck you've been trying to outwit for months. I feel a bit more disconnected with a fish that I've never seen before, its more of a chance encounter. And, if you blow it, the spot isn't blown, there will be another fish there tommorrow. I think that type of pressure/challenge with bowhunting makes it the most rewarding to me when I am successful.

I haven't had that adrenaline rush yet with fishing like I do when I make that perfect double lung pass through when bowhunting for deer. Waiting for him to take that one more step, full draw, heart pounding, zoned..... Screaming reels out in the canyon comes a distant second.

Fishing now that I am in Jersey, but when I lived in KY Hunting was my pastime of choice.

I've heard of and had 'Buck-Fever', never ran into 'Striper-Fever' or 'Fluke-Fever'. I guess hunting has it.
